[PacketFence-devel] IPv6 Support?

Hello,

I'm stirring the IPv6 pot again. I haven't seen any definitive responses to the other IPv6 queries out there, so I thought I'd ask again. Sorry for the repeat question.

Is there full IPv6 support in the latest version of PacketFence (5.7.0)? If not, is there a roadmap on when it might be supported? IPv6 is a hard requirement in my network, and we're looking for a NAC (preferably OpenSource) that can support it.

Thanks,

Thanks, Tim. Do you know which functionalities currently support IPv6 and which are still lacking?

Thanks,
Ray

Right now all they do is harvest dhcpv6 fingerprints. There is no other
functionality. I'm personally waiting for firewall sso updates with the
devices v6 address, neighbor discovery snooping, and external portal
support. Secondary needs for me are v6 radius client/server support.

Thank you Tim,
While I can’t promise to deliver anything specific, It’s interesting to us to know just what exactly people would like PacketFence to do.

Keep em coming.
We’re adding that stuff to the big old TODO list.

Tracking dhcpv6 prefix delegations as well as the IA address are equally
important. We run primarily dhcpv6 but on wireless that isn't an option
because android is broken. Aruba can sniff the stateless addresses but
won't relay it in radius unless we use v6 radius servers.
